GASD Honors

Six seniors from Greater Amsterdam High School have earned the Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors, a recognition granted by the New York State Board of Regents for outstanding academic achievement.

To qualify for this designation, students must earn an average score of 90 or higher, without rounding, on a set of required Regents exams. The exams include English Language Arts, Global Studies, U.S. History, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, and two science Regents. Achieving this level of performance demonstrates consistent academic excellence across a broad range of subjects.

The students who met these rigorous requirements and received plaques at this year’s National Honor Society ceremony are Emilio Jared Eustáquio, Quinn Francisco, Joanna Jaracz, Emma Miller, Francesca Murphy, and Matthew Young.

“This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of our students and the support of our teachers and families,” said Superintendent Richard Ruberti. “We are proud of these seniors for their commitment to academic excellence and for setting a strong example for their peers.”

Earning the Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors is a significant accomplishment that highlights the students’ mastery of challenging coursework and readiness for post-secondary education or careers. The designation signals not only strong content knowledge but also perseverance and discipline throughout high school.
