Sport Clinic

The Greater Amsterdam School District is currently running a six-week Summer Sports Clinic in collaboration with the City of Amsterdam and Montgomery County services. The program provides GASD students with daily opportunities to stay active and engaged through a rotation of sports and structured activities.

The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Each day focuses on a different sport, allowing students to develop new skills while building confidence and teamwork. Sessions are led by district coaches who work directly with students to provide instruction, supervision, and support.

GASD coaches design the daily activities to ensure students of all abilities can participate and benefit. The rotating schedule includes sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, and other team-based games. The program emphasizes physical activity, cooperation, and skill-building throughout the summer.

This initiative is part of the district’s ongoing effort to expand summer enrichment offerings. By working with the City and County, GASD is able to provide additional opportunities for students beyond the school year. The partnership helps ensure the program is accessible and well-supported.

Participation in the clinic is open to students across the district and aligns with GASD’s mission to promote student health and well-being. Coaches also work to foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participation from all interested students.

The Summer Sports Clinic will continue through the duration of the six-week period. The district thanks all staff and community partners involved in the successful implementation of the program.
