AHS Hispanic Heritage

Last Friday, Amsterdam High School students experienced the vibrant rhythms and energy of Latin music as Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra visited the school to help celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

The band delivered an exciting live performance that brought students and staff together in appreciation of Hispanic and Latin American culture. In addition to the performance, Torres led interactive salsa lessons, giving students the opportunity to learn traditional dance moves and connect with the music in a hands-on way.

Events like this provide students with meaningful cultural experiences, encouraging appreciation and understanding of traditions from around the world. The school’s celebration highlighted the importance of diversity and inclusion, while also reminding students of the power of music to bring people together.
