Students at Amsterdam High School recently had the opportunity to learn more about careers in the skilled trades during a guest presentation by John Witt of Witt Construction, a Saratoga Springs–based home-building company.
During his visit, Witt shared insights into the home-building industry and emphasized that constructing a home is a collaborative effort involving many skilled professionals. From planning and design to construction and finishing work, students learned how a wide range of trades and talents contribute to the high-quality homes Witt Construction is known for.
The presentation offered students a real-world perspective on career pathways in the trades and highlighted opportunities for hands-on, in-demand work in the construction industry. Experiences like these support Greater Amsterdam School District’s ongoing efforts to connect classroom learning with future career exploration and workforce readiness.
