Athletic Leadership Club

During Regents Week, members of Amsterdam High School’s Athletic Leadership Club dedicated several hours each day to visiting elementary classrooms across the district, creating meaningful connections with younger students.

Club members visited Prekindergarten through Grade Two classrooms, where they read stories, played games, and answered questions from students. Wearing their Amsterdam athletics apparel, the student leaders proudly represented their teams while modeling positive behavior, leadership, and school pride.

The visits provided elementary students with an opportunity to interact with older role models while learning what it means to be part of the Amsterdam school community. For the Athletic Leadership Club members, the experience reinforced the importance of giving back and setting a positive example for the next generation.

The initiative highlighted the strong sense of unity within Amsterdam schools and the continued commitment of student-athletes to support and uplift their community—on and off the field.
