A former Greater Amsterdam School District student is once again giving back to support local students.
Andre Jackson Jr., a professional basketball player with the Milwaukee Bucks, donated 200 winter coats, along with 200 hats and 200 pairs of socks, to benefit middle school students in the Greater Amsterdam School District. The donation was delivered Friday morning.
Last year, Jackson donated $5,000, which was used to purchase winter jackets, gloves and hats for middle school students through Alpin Haus.
“This donation reflects Andre’s continued commitment to our students and our community,” said Superintendent Richard Ruberti. “His generosity helps ensure our students have what they need to stay warm and ready to learn during the winter months.”
Jackson attended the Greater Amsterdam School District and has continued to support students through acts of generosity and community involvement.
