Black history month project

Eighth grade science students at Lynch Middle School marked Black History Month by researching Black scientists who have made significant contributions to the field of science.

As part of the project, students examined each scientist’s educational background, including where they attended college, as well as their major scientific achievements and lasting impact. The assignment encouraged students not only to recognize historical accomplishments but also to understand the academic and professional pathways these individuals followed on their journeys to success.

After completing their research, the class compiled their mini-biographies into a large, collaborative timeline. The visual display allows students to see how scientific contributions have developed over time and how these scientists helped shape advancements across multiple disciplines.

The timeline serves as both an educational resource and an inspiring reminder of the diverse voices and innovators who have influenced science throughout history.
