Creativity is making a lasting impression at Lynch Middle School as students and staff work together to transform hallways and classrooms into showcases of artistic expression.
A growing collection of murals throughout the building highlights the talent, collaboration and imagination of the school community. From detailed portraits to large-scale designs, each piece reflects the dedication of students who are using art as a way to leave a positive mark on their school.
One mural featuring ocean animals was created under the direction of Mrs. Kilburn and showcases colorful marine life and student creativity. Mrs. Kilburn also completed a dragon mural, adding another bold and imaginative design to the school’s visual landscape.

Eighth grade student Taryn Brown contributed two impressive murals — a detailed Statue of Liberty and a recreation of the Mona Lisa — demonstrating strong artistic skill and attention to detail.

Students are also exploring unique artistic styles through collaborative work. One mural represents “ribbon animals,” inspired by the artwork of M.C. Escher, adding a distinctive visual element to the collection.

Collaboration has played a major role in many of the projects. A dragon mural was completed by Malarie Parker, Haydn Steenburg and Mrs. Featherstone, while another mural is currently in progress in Mr. Christopher’s technology classroom by Malarie Parker and Julianna Reynicke.

School leaders say the murals help create a more welcoming and inspiring environment for students and staff while celebrating the creativity that exists throughout Lynch Middle School.
As additional mural projects continue, students will have even more opportunities to showcase their artistic talents and contribute to the school community in meaningful and lasting ways.
