The Greater Amsterdam School District

Dear Greater Amsterdam School District Families,

We are aware of recent media reports regarding the arrest of an individual who served as an assistant lacrosse coach in our district.

Upon learning of the arrest, the district took immediate action and the individual has been placed on administrative leave.

Based on information currently available from law enforcement, the alleged conduct is reported to be connected to the individual’s prior employment in another school district and we have not been informed of any allegations involving Amsterdam students.

The safety and well-being of our students remains our highest priority. We are cooperating fully with law enforcement and, because this is an active criminal investigation, we are limited in what we can share at this time.

We understand that news like this can be upsetting. If you or your child have concerns, we encourage you to contact your building principal or school counseling staff.
