Amsterdam High School held its second annual Women’s Leadership Summit on March 26, providing students with the opportunity to hear from professionals across multiple fields.
The event, held during periods three and four, featured a lineup of speakers who shared their career experiences and perspectives on leadership, advocacy and professional growth.
Guest speakers included Subrina Dhammi, a news anchor and reporter with WNYT; Kay-Lee Dingle, a social worker and advocate with the House of the Good Shepherd; Michele Pawlik, a Montgomery County legislator and business owner; Hon. Rebecca A. Slezak, a New York State Supreme Court justice; and Manpreet Kaur, an assistant district attorney and special assistant U.S. attorney.
Speakers discussed their career paths, challenges and accomplishments, while offering advice to students about pursuing higher education, entering the workforce and making a difference in their communities.
The summit aimed to provide students with exposure to a range of professions and to highlight leadership opportunities for young women.
