Fashion at McNulty

Students at McNulty Academy transformed the school hallways into a runway last month during a fashion show celebrating creativity, sustainability and clothing studies.

The event highlighted the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling while giving students the opportunity to design and showcase wearable creations made from repurposed materials. Students proudly modeled imaginative handmade vests and other fashion pieces in front of classmates and staff.

The fashion show served as both a creative learning experience and a lesson in environmental responsibility, encouraging students to think about how everyday materials can be reused in new ways.

Assistant Principal Megan Togaila said the event gave students an opportunity to express themselves while reinforcing important lessons learned in the classroom.

“Watching our students confidently showcase their designs on the runway was incredible,” Togaila said. “They demonstrated creativity, teamwork and an understanding of how small actions like reusing materials can make a positive impact.”

Students spent time planning and creating their designs before presenting them during the schoolwide showcase. The event also gave students the opportunity to practice presentation skills and build confidence in front of an audience.

School officials said the fashion show was another example of hands-on learning opportunities that allow students to combine creativity with real-world concepts in an engaging way.
