The district is aware of a false message currently circulating online claiming that Amsterdam High School will move to fully online instruction for the 2026-27 school year due to reports of a “hantavirus” outbreak.
This message is completely false and did not originate from the Greater Amsterdam School District or Amsterdam High School administration.
At this time, there are no reported concerns or risks related to hantavirus within our schools or community, and all school operations will continue as normal. The 2026-27 school year, including all scheduled events and graduation activities, will proceed as planned.
