AMSTERDAM, N.Y. — The Greater Amsterdam School District has received $50,000 in state funding secured by Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara to support the addition of a pavilion overlooking the Unified Bocce courts at Amsterdam High School.
The pavilion will build upon the district’s Unified Bocce facilities and provide an enhanced space for students, families, and community members to gather during practices, competitions, and other activities.
The project represents the latest investment in Amsterdam’s Unified Bocce program, which continues to bring students together through teamwork, inclusion, and school spirit.
Santabarbara presented the funding to district representatives, students, and supporters at the bocce courts.
GASD thanks Santabarbara for supporting the project, as well as Michele Pawlik, Robert Spagnola, Athletic Director John Salls, Superintendent Richard Ruberti ,and the many students and families who have contributed their time and support to the development of the bocce facilities.
The new pavilion will further enhance a space that has become an important part of Amsterdam High School’s Unified Sports program and provide another opportunity to celebrate inclusion and community throughout the district.
