I have always loved children. When I became an attorney in 1997 I started as an attorney for the children in Family Court, in Montgomery County, Fulton County and Hamilton County, as well as a part-time Assistant District Attorney for Montgomery County.
I am running for the Board to continue with this passion to make sure the children in our schools receive the best possible education to prepare them for the challenges in this ever-changing world. I also want to ensure the unsung heroes of the District - all those that keep everything running smoothly and provide all with a safe environment and access to all the District has to offer.

My candidacy for The Greater Amsterdam School District School Board is primarily motivated by my lifelong connection to the community and the school district. My two youngest daughters are currently enrolled in its schools and the prior graduation of my five other children from Amsterdam High School. I wish to emphasize that this decision is not rooted in political considerations or affiliations.
Foremost in my priorities is the safety and well-being of our students, teachers, faculty, and staff. It is imperative that all necessary measures are implemented and resources allocated to cultivate a secure and conducive learning environment for everyone. Optimal teaching and learning are contingent upon minimizing distractions and anxieties.
Furthermore, I aim to advocate for a proactive approach in addressing critical areas such as safety protocols, special education programs and services, athletic programs, extracurricular activities, clubs, and essential resources. Ensuring our educators are equipped with the necessary tools is also a key objective.
Beyond proactive planning, effective governance of the school district necessitates the capacity to respond quickly to urgent needs and emergent situations within our community.
The obvious dedication of our teachers is fundamental to the future success of our children, who represent the future of our community.

I was born and raised in Hagaman, graduating from Amsterdam High School. I pursued my passion for animals and earned a degree in Zoo Animal Care from Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida.
For the past two decades, I’ve built a career working in digital marketing, content creation, and community engagement. I’m also a licensed artist. But in recent years, I’ve felt a deeper pull toward service and education.
My daughter is currently a 7th grader at Lynch Middle School, so I’m not just involved—I’m invested. I’ve seen firsthand how our schools shape our kids, and I’m proud to play a role in helping shape our schools.
This is my re-election campaign. I’ve had the honor of serving on the Board of Education for the past three years, with this past year as Vice President.
When I first ran, it was because I felt a strong calling to give back and support our students, teachers, and families. Since then, our board has faced tough challenges—and made real progress. We've tackled issues like school security, staffing, infrastructure, cell phone policies, lunch program improvements, and more. We’re not just reacting anymore—we’re building.
My guiding motto has always been “Strong Schools, Strong Future,” and I truly believe that we are stronger now than we were three years ago. But there’s more work to be done—and I’m not ready to step away. I want to help us keep moving forward.
If re-elected, I’ll continue advocating for:
Innovative, engaging academic programs that prepare students for real-world success
Our students and families always come first, but they can't succeed unless we support our staff as well
Continuing to support mental health and wellness programs for both students and staff—because thriving kids start with emotional well-being
Stronger community involvement, helping to ensure that families, local organizations, and the broader community feel like true partners in education
I’m a mom, a neighbor, and a proud BoE member who’s passionate about the future of our district. These kids are our future, and I’m committed to continuing the work of making sure they have every opportunity to succeed.

A dedicated member of the Board of Education since 2019, I have served for six years and held the position of vice president last year. My commitment to education spans 38 years as an English teacher at Lynch Middle School and Media Specialist and technology leader at Amsterdam High School. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with both students and teachers. I recognize the significant impact the Board of Education's decisions have on the daily lives of students and teachers and I am committed to ensuring that the Greater Amsterdam School District maximizes all available opportunities.

As a 43-year-old lifelong resident of Amsterdam, my connection to this community runs deep. My wife and I have been together for nearly 26 years and are proud parents of three children and grandparents to a granddaughter. I am currently in my 19th year of service with National Grid. Having been a student of the Amsterdam School District myself, and with my wife and children also having attended its schools, I have a strong personal investment in its success.
My decision to run for the school board is driven by a desire to actively participate in decisions regarding the allocation of our community's tax dollars. Furthermore, I believe strongly in transparency, particularly concerning the budgeting of the various programs offered within our schools, including athletics, music, and extracurricular activities. If elected, I am committed to serving as a fair and transparent member of the board.
