Residents of the Greater Amsterdam School District will head to the polls Tuesday, May 19, to vote on the proposed 2026-27 school budget, Board of Education candidates and additional district propositions.
Voting will take place from noon to 9 p.m. There are 4 Poll Sites. Amsterdam High School, Marie Curie Elementary, Lynch Literacy Academy, and Barkley Elementary. If voters are unclear of their voting site, they can call me at 518-770-6121 or email kmcgaffin@gasd.org.
The proposed $111,956,616 budget maintains a 0% tax levy increase while continuing to support academic programming, student support services, safety initiatives and facility improvements throughout the district.
District officials said the budget was developed with a focus on maintaining opportunities for students while minimizing the impact on local taxpayers. The proposal includes continued investments in instructional programming, technology, transportation, extracurricular activities and facility upgrades.
Voters will also consider a capital project proposition and additional propositions outlined in the district’s budget materials.
